Here at www.quotemyenergy.co.uk we know how important it is to have the right contact details to hand when you need help in an emergency. When it comes to your gas or electricity supply it could be a matter of life or death, so knowing what to do and who to call is essential.

Gas emergency

When you have an emergency with your gas supply you need to CALL 0800 111 999. This is a 24 hour line so you can call at any time.

When should you call?

• If you can smell gas, you need to make the call.
• If you think that there is a gas leak you should open your doors and windows, put out any naked flames (this includes cigarettes) and then make the call.
• If you think that there is a problem with carbon monoxide you need to open doors and windows and make the call.
• Gas consumption is less than 293,000 kWh each year

This number is a national line, is a free phone number and is available to all regions.

Electric emergency

It is your own network operator that is responsible for your electricity supply. If you have a power cut or an emergency you need to find your operator and give them a call. We have provided you with a list of all the operators’ emergency contact numbers. To find out which is your operator, take a quick look at your electricity bill. You need to look at the bottom left of your ‘S’ grid on your bill. The S grid looks like this:

Then you take the two numbers in the bottom left corner – highlighted in yellow on our grid. Then look at the table to find the relevant provider. We have also given you the general enquiry number if your question is not an emergency.
